I need your advice on if this is appropriate?

My s. is in the middle of applying to schools and is about ready to send out it out, to the various schools. He is a little unorthodox in that he had a terrible 9th grade year but has been on a steady incline ever since and has very respectable SAT scores. In the space that adds do you want to tell us anything else about yourself, his advisor said it might be a good place to address his rocky start in high school. I am wondering if anyone who can remain objective would care to read what he wrote and tell us what you think and the impression you get of him when you read it. We cannot afford an outside advisor or college specialist and as his father and I are not college grads. I don't want to give him the wrong advice. Any help or insight you may have would be most appreciated. Thank you.

PM it to me and I'll take a look.

In marite, you have the best, ctmom. If she or you have any questions after she looks at it, I'd be happy to take a look. But probably won't be necessary.

It sounds like you've had good advice. A lot of kids have trouble in 9th grade and then improve. Like -- ahem -- me, for example. Some colleges don't even look at 9th grade grades for that reason. Good luck to you and your son.
