**I need your expert opinion! PLEASE READ**

So I got accepted to Clemson about 3 weeks ago. I'm visiting my friend over Spring Break, and if I like the campus, I'm definatly going to consider going. I've been deferred from Elon and UWisconsin Madison, and so far Clemson is the only school I've gotten into. If I don't get into Elon RD, I need to know if Clemson is where I should head.

Here are some of my questions:
Is there an honors college?
Sure I want to have a good time, but how dedicated are the students to getting a good education?
How large are the classes (excluding freshman year 101 courses)?
How heavy is frat life?
Should I join a frat?
How easily can you access a prof.?

Also, my parents are concerned about sending me to a large state school. I'm prepared to commit myself to getting good grades, but I need arguments for why I should goto Clemson over smaller liberal arts schools (Ithaca, College of Wooster, U Puget Sound)

Thanks

There is an honors college on campus. There are separate honors classes, and they are smaller and discussion based.

As a whole, the students are very dedicated, but it depends on who you associate with. There are people who will party every night, and those who will study for hours a day.

The classes aren't that large, but it really depends on what you take. Through my first year (I came in with 32 hours, so I haven't taken many intro classes) I have had an average of ~25 people in my classes.

Frat life is pretty big, but not overwhelming at all.

Join a frat if you think it is something you want to do. It isn't required to have fun on campus, but it is an option.

The professors are very accessible. They have office hours, and are willing to meet outside of them if you schedule an appointment. On more than a few occasions I have had professors answer emails during the weekend.

You should visit both small and large schools to see what atmosphere you want. They are two distinct experiences.

if you are wanting to do the honors college it might be too late to apply. check the deadline...
