So on the common app activities, I listed EC activities and they were all fairly cohesive and related to each other regarding my interests. It shows depth and committment since most activities I listed I have folowed all four years of HS + multiple hours per week etc. The problem is, my school also sends an activities record along with the secondary school report and although it will confirm my activities i listwd on the common app, it will also give a long list of all my other clubs as well., it will list all my other unrelated activities (i have a laundry list). I was one of those kids that had to join everything. I know im rambling so I'll get to the point: Im worried that the laundry list of activities will actually make me look unfocused and superficially trying to impress colleges rather than passionate about a few things. Do you think the school report will water down my more committed activities listed on common app?

I think it should be fine. If anything, the long plain list will show that you’re very active and not spending your free time vegetating or watching tv, but your common app shows ur more psasionate and driven side

I agree with “Set Point.”

Good luck!

The common app activities section is based on your order of principal interest. As long as those principal interest of yours is related then forget about others. Show them what you’re good at and you’re fine.
