I Need your input

Hello,

My name is Susan and I'm currently a sophomore in college.
I go to Baylor University in Waco, TX. I am majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and Medical Humanities.
However, I'm really scared. I really want to get into medical school and I'm doing all I can to make myself a good candidate, but I know that even then I may get rejected.
Have any of you been accepted, or are currently in Medical School? If you are, is there any advice you can give me for the admission process?
I currently have a cumulative 3.66 GPA, however, my second semester I got a D in Chem 2. I retook it and made a B+ (really hard professor), and I have already taken O-Chem. I also made a B+. I have A's and B's in bio, and A's and B's in my maths. This semester I'm taking 5 sciences and the GPA might go down to a 3.61 or 3.5x
I work part-time as a marketing assistant, and I am also a Spanish Tutor (I speak, read and write spanish fluently). I'm involved on BU MEDS (a medical ethics discussion society), in the hall-leadership team in my dormitory, I'm a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, as well as a volunteer at a hospital during the weekends. I have worked really hard to be at Baylor, since I come from a modest background and my parents certainly could not afford to pay for college, so I'm doing it on my own.
My question is...to those of you that might be able to answer...do you think I have a good chance of getting into medical School? It's what I want to do and even though I don't have a 4.0, I know that I work harder than those who do, because I don't have parents who pay for everything.

With a GPA like that your in pretty good shape. Try to get a 30+ on the MCATS and keep up with the rest of your stuff and you should be all set.

It's going to depend on your MCAT. Your GPA is serviciable and your EC's are decent, though not spectacular.

What kinds of EC's would you consider as "spectacular"...these take a good amount of time, and I work part-time.

Also, everybody mentions undergrad institutions in the northeast mainly, but I hear nothing about good schools down here in the South. What about med schools in Texas? ...gosh, I'm really scared.
Also, I forgot to add one thing...I'm only 18 years old, and I'll be only 20 by the time I graduate from college...so is age a factor? Will the med schools think I'm too young? I know most people that get in are between 22 and 27.

The Baylor College of Medicine is a a top medical school, ranked #13 in the latest USNews. It used to be, but is no longer part of Baylor University (although it retained the name). The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is also a top medical school.
