I need your input....

Hey guys,
I wanted to post here to see what you could tell me about my chance of getting into CMU would be. My GPA is a 3.4, plus I'm taking 2 honors classes this year and 2 englishes which hopefully will help it go up. I am a male applying to the School of Fine Arts and am hoping to major in Musical Theater because I have been on stage since I was a child.I am only applying to CMU this way because I dont think I would have a chance any other way. Please let me know what you think or if you know any other schools I could look at that might fit my criteria. BE HONEST PLEASE!

My SAT score is: Critical Reading, 450
Math, 410
Writing, 490

Your scores and grades aren't really going to matter that much. Carnegie Mellon has one of the top Musical Theatre programs in the country, which is housed in its prestigious School of Drama. Your audition is weighed about 90% and your academic transcript is weighed about 10% in order to make the final decision. Basically, if the Drama School really wants you, you have a very good chance of getting in. However, your SAT scores are pretty low, even compared to other Drama majors, so it's possible that even if the SOD wanted you, Admissions might ask them to take someone else instead to keep the college's avg. SAT scores from getting too low.
