So I'm a CA CC student looking to transfer. I have a 3.6 GPA and I'm wondering if I have even a chance at UCLA. My 3.6 GPA consists of a majority of A's, about 3 B's and one C in an English Honors Class my first year ( don't know if that helps.).

What do you all think?

It really depends on what major you intend to apply as. You’d have a shot if your major is non-impacted.

My major is politics - so that’s probably not such a good thing. :(

Don’t count yourself out, but the Political Science major at UCLA is highly impacted. The average GPA of admitted transfer students in 2012 for Poli-Sci was 3.78. If you have completed and received good grades in your pre-req classes, then take a shot and apply.

Thanks! Well I have about a 3.9 in pre-reqs only. I even took a pre-req at UCLA and got an A. But my GPA in general is a bit low mostly due to a C. Is there anything else I can do to improve now? Or any other chancers?

Have a very good personal statement.

You have a shot for sure. Apply. That way you won’t always wonder what if. Good luck.
