I need your opinion!

Hey guys I need your help! I have taken two ACT’s and have received the same composite of an 26 but got different subscores.

1st time: ENGLISH: 25 MATH: 26 READING: 26 SCIENCE: 26

2nd time: ENGLISH: 22 MATH: 27 READING: 27 SCIENCE: 29

I was just wondering which one would look better on a college application, if it does even matter? and does my intended major also change this question? I will be majoring in biology.

Thanks alot!

I’d say higher science & math scores would be better for a biology major.

If the schools superscore, send both. I think your bigger issue is that:

  • There is a glut of bio majors. Jobs are few and salaries are low.
  • The MCAT is a key component to getting into med school (guessing that is your goal from your name). Your ACT score does not bode well for having a strong MCAT score. You need a backup plan if med school does not happen for you, and a bio degree probably isn’t the best starting place. You can major in anything and be pre-med as long as you complete the pre-med requirements.

I’d send both scores. And agree with post above.

Also, many people in your shoes have blinders on about med school. Physician Assistant, Nursing, physical therapy, Pharmacology, med techs – are just some of the other med related fields. As far as quality of life, many of them outperform being a physician, too.

I would send both scores, as most schools superscore.
