I never got an interview for Yale. What could this mean?

I sent in my application pretty late, still on time though. I believe I postmarked it on Dec. 31st.

A couple of other kids who applied RD from my school received interviews but they submitted their application earlier than mine.

What could my failure to receive an interview indicate? I am a fairly intelligent and accomplished kid and in comparison of my other school mates who applied, I would have to say that I am equal to them, if not better, in almost all respects.

If you have read any of the other interview threads then you'd know that there's nothing to worry about e.g. no interview = no indication on your admissions chances. They are randomly assigned and maybe the # of volunteers in your area got loaded up and no more slots were available.

Good luck to you.

Here's a very informative thread about how they are assigned and why some kids don't get them

Maybe the alumnus that was assigned to you simply forgot to contact you.

Thanks for the responses.

I wasn't interviewed, but I still got in.

It's not a big deal at all.

no fears. Interviews are not mandatory with Yale. More relaxing for applicants unlike Harvard's which is mandatory.
