I submitted my 2016-17 CSS PROFILE over a month ago and sent it to schools that require the IDOC. However, I still haven’t gotten my IDOC ID and can’t access it. What should I do? Does it take this long?
I didn’t get my IDOC either. I just signed in using my birthdate and social security number. Once logged in your ID is there.
We did my son’s Profile in October and didn’t receive his IDOC number until yesterday evening. Did you check your spam folder just in case?
I haven’t gotten the ID email either - is it sent to both student and parent? I am the parent and I received the initial confirmation email after submitting the Profile.
Also, I tried the SS# and Birthdate, and that doesn’t work either.
I submitted the Profile on 2/3, 2 days ago.
I haven’t gotten my IDOC ID, and can’t login using my social security because I don’t have one.
Same here. I’m an international student.
I’ll call the College Board and will post here what they say.
@craspedia
Maybe that’s why. It was only a few days ago: we submitted the CSS when it opened in October yet still never received an IDOC ID. I successfully logged in with my social security number and birthdate and completed and uploaded all documents on February 3. I checked today and everything was processed and I’m good to go.
I called the College Board. They said they’d investigate and get back to me.
I called the College Board too and they said give it a few more days. And that the school needs to actively request the docs. That’s what will generate the email with the IDOC ID number. Their deadline is Feb 15, so I hope they get on it.
The College Board just isn’t helping me. They said they’d get back to me, they didn’t. When I called back today, they just told me to call back later! The deadline is on the 15th and I don’t know what to do.
@craspedia Have you gotten your IDOC ID yet?
@gearstudio No, I still haven’t. I think I’ll call the school tomorrow because their deadline is also Feb 15th. It’s cutting it way too close. I was ready to upload the docs after I hit submit on the Profile.
Same here. I’m an international student and I submitted my CSS profile 4 days ago (02/08). I emailed college board two days ago but they haven’t replied. How long does it usually take? I’m stressing out here since the deadline is February 15.
@brianc118 I got my IDOC ID two days ago. Emailing them does nothing; I had to call them and and argue over the phone for a good 30 minutes. I then spoke to a supervisor who said she’ll escalate the issue. I then got my IDOC ID within 12 hours.
You need your IDOC ID as soon as possible, give them a phone call.
@gearsstudio Thanks. I’ll try calling them asap.
I called the school and they said that College Board issues the IDOC ID (argh!).
So I called College Board back and got a very helpful woman who put me on long hold while she talked to her supervisor. Then she came back on the line and said that since it’s been 11 days since I submitted the Profile, she will escalate it for me and I should get the IDOC ID email within a day, and if I don’t get it to call back.
Then an hour later my phone rang with an odd number on the caller id. I answered it and it was the same woman from the College Board who was helping me. She said they never call people back, but she made an exception this time (I never gave her my phone number so they must have had it on their caller id). She said she got the IDOC ID number for me and wanted to wait on the line with me while I tried to log on. I did, was able to log on, and thanked her profusely for her help!! I couldn’t believe how helpful and nice she was!
