I never omit. but I have 5 omits.

omg im so depressed right now…

i NEVER NEVER EVER, i repeat NEVER omit questions on the SAT.

i got my score back last week and it wasnt as high as i wanted hoped, but nonetheless it was decent and i wouldnt be too worried if i ended up with it as my final score.

however, i wondered why my critical reading and writing score didn’t come out the way i expected.

now today the ‘understanding your scores’ came out where you can check how many answers you got wrong/correct/omitted.

i see 1 omit on reading and 4 omits on writing.

***???

i have no idea how the hell that happened… i couldnt just have randomly forgotten to fill in 5 questions, i fill in each bubble as i take the test.

im just dumbfounded right now and my score should have been about 100 points higher.

my only guess right now was that hard ones i switched answers for after realizing the correct answer had smudgy erasing… but i erased well enough.

sigh if i only got those 100 points back i wouldnt have the worry about taking the sat for the 3rd time.

Maybe the machine did not pick up on the mark? I think you can pay to have your answer sheet rescored by hand.

woah how could i do that?
i would most definitely want to do that.

strange though, i used a #2 pencil and i erased/marked meticulously.

Search Google for SAT rescoring services or something to that effect.

I agree, you should request hand-scoring in a case like this.

the same thing happened to me on the Jan SAT! On the writing section, I had gotten everything right except for 4 omitted answers and I never omit questions. I paid for hand-scoring but it didnt change my score… so apparently i must’ve been really stupid and skipped a page or something, it really sucks…

Wow, that’s weird. Could they tell you the location of the questions you omitted?

Yeah I did a google search and apparently I have to call customer service? That’s annoying. I’ll be doing that today. It doesn’t say anything about the price though…

I’m definitely sure I didn’t skip a page or anything, because there is 1 READING omit and 4 WRITING omit. All of them hard/medium questions. Also, I definitely remember getting 2 reading vocab questions wrong (mendacity/insolent) but for sentence completion it shows 1 omit and 1 wrong. So that definitely means the machine screwed up on reading my erase marks. I don’t know why because I’ve never had problems with filling in circles… I do admit I pencil in the answers a bit too hard at first and it doesn’t erase completely the way I want it to when I change answers.

@krndandaman same here. but it was only 1 difficult question that was omitted from CR, which prevented me from getting a 800. I never omit, and i checked all the difficult questions on here, and was right for all except for 1, -1 raw score=800. So I sent in the form for handscore verification. Its a hefty $52 (stupid collegeboard, and their avariciousness), but if they made a mistake, you get a refund. However, if nothing changes, you’ve gave them $52. Also, if your score becomes lower, it stays that way. Its a stupid thing, and hopefully everything works out - for you and me.

Same here. I never omit, and the detailed report says that I omitted 4 (2 medium, 2 hard) writing questions in “improving sentences”. I’m usually really careful, but I think I may have skipped the last page of section 10 writing (I’m trying to remember if that page would have had 4 questions…)
so depressing…

Same here. I never omit, but I had 4 omitted in the Jan writing section.

Dude i ttly no what ur feeling. Halfway thru my essay i switched pencils and bc i was a moron i didnt bothr to check how dark the lead was. Half my essay didnt scan haha
