You guys are beyond idiotic, the fact that you passed HS surprises me. The Pledge is for a Flag, Its to a flag that is a Representation of our country.

You can talk all you want on the Internet, but if we were at an event or in class and you didn't stand, you would get punched right in the face. and you would not be the first for that reason.

Hey, what's wrong with draft dodging? I don't hold any particular views on people who are or are not in the military but you can bet your ass that I would not drop everything I was doing and go to some place overseas just because my government TOLD me to unless I supported the cause. If that ever happend, I'd wipe my ass with the flag and hitch a ride on the next plane/boat out of here (huzzah for dual citizenship!). Patriotism is great, loving your country (whether its the one of birth or adopted) is great, but the minute you force me to put my life on the line or face the consequences then I'm gonna flip you the finger and leave.

At the end of the day, a country is just a piece of dirt surrounded by arbritrary lines that seperates it from other pieces of dirt rule by a small group of people and we're just stiffs who had the benefit of being born on third base while the rest of the world suffers and when that luxury is taken from me, well excuse me for putting my family and I first but there are plently of other countries with good (or better) situations than this one to be born into or live in.

sick animals, get out.

Well, seeing as how you're so dead set against everyone else's rights as an american, I suggest that you get out. You are the one against our rights as americans and all that it stands for. So why don't you leave this country, because you obviously don't support it's stand on civil liberties and the Bill of Rights.

I think NOrth Korea is a good place for you.

I also want to add that I think this thread is mainly about opposition to Bush. Stupid ignorant people who are liberal for the hell of it (college students) see Bush as patriotic and rallying patriotism among the American people. Thus, they think that by not saying the pledge, they are opposing Bush. DEE DEE DEE. This just shows how ignorant they really are.

If by "took the bait" you mean respond to your absolutely idiotic statement...ok. Hey zip, we know you're an attention seeker, but try and do it with a little more class, you'd probably get away with it easier.

Wow. My best advice for you would to be read and re-read carefully what US was founded for and what sort of principles it supported. Plato's allegory of cave will help as well.

Right, right, I also oppose Bush because I sometimes don't brush my teeth in the evening! Let's all oppose Bush by putting one spoon of sugar instead of two into tea cups! GO TO BARRICADES!!! RAISE THE FLAG OF LIBERTY!

I think it's the respectful thing to do to say the pledge, but some aspects of it are kind of...questionable. Mainly the "under god" part, becausre this country has a separation of church and state and not everyone believes in god, or at least the christian god. i dont care what anyone says, that definitely should not be in the pledge. also, i dont necessarilly there is "liberty and justice for all"..that doesn't exist in any country, including the USA. there are faults in the US, and i understand that many of us dont agree completely with the government, but also because we live here we have the right to disagree, so i think 30 seconds of our times to say the pledge isnt SO MUCH to ask, but i wouldnt hate someone for not saying it either. that's my $.02

I would like to say, if you have real problems with the Pledge of Allegiance, maybe you should move to the Peoples Republic of China or North Korea(its kind of competitive with all the applicants though), I heard both those countries aren't too big on God.

On a more serious note, with very important events unfolding around us in the world--terrorism,nuclear war, global warming--it is very assuring that Americans worry about 3 words in something they are not even required to say.

In conclusion, God bless the Liberals. I hope we revise the pledge right as we get nuked or have another 9/11.
