What are my chances at Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, MIT, and Cornell? My scores overall seem pretty average for them.
Except the 36's... but out here in North Cakalacky no one takes the ACT's and I have no idea how far those will get me. Is it the equivalent of a 2400 or is it less?

I know these schools are crapshoots for even the best of students, and I don't feel like I have any particular draw for my app. I'm trying to not get my hopes up at all because I don't know my chances... at all. The fact that I'm half Asian and half white (the two most represented ethnicities in these schools) doesn't reassure me any. Any insight?

I'd offer to chance back... but I really don't know that much about admissions, lol.

“I’d offer to chance back… but I really don’t know that much about admissions, lol.” neither do I, but I will chance anyway (and plus your title really resonates with me…;)). Anyway, I think you have a great chance at all of these, but hopefully you have some safeties because these schools are infamously random while admitting. However, I question, why did you not apply to Stanford? Figured enough Asians were applying already? haha, jk.

Yeah, I’m already into UMd and NC State. I would NOT risk those schools alone, haha. And no Stanford just because it’s sooo far. I mean, New England is far, but at least I could make it down here in a day if something were to happen. California… not so much.

Great grades, GREAT scores, pretty good ec’s, I’d say an overall good shot at those schools, Ivy League schools by definition are always “reaches”, but i think your grades/scores backed by pretty good ec’s will gain you acceptance. It’s competitive, and I know amazing kids that didn’t get in who had a little worse stats. I’d say MIT is the farthest Reach for you.

I guess what I meant to say is… I know these schools reject a lot of qualified applicants just based off the volume, but am I in the ‘qualified’ pool or the ‘nearly qualified’ or what?
