I put my friend's name as a legacy

Ha, I had no faith in my record and activities, so I put my friend's, an alumnus, name as a legacy into my application. Would they ever accept me? What and how will they think of it?

Bye .

... that was stupid. I'm not sure how they'll react. I doubt it's good though.

lol what do u mean? i am confused. does he have the same last name or something?

First, most colleges don't count you as a legacy unless your parents or siblings went there.

Many colleges don't care about legacy at all.

And, if a college finds out that you lied about something like this, they'd probably reject you. This is true even of second and third tier colleges that value honesty, as most colleges do.

^ agreed. (10 char)

It depends how you did it, I remember there was a scroll-down menu for you to explain how you are related when I did it. Did you say the person was your parent? Or did you say they had an "other" relationship to you?

The things CC users will do to get into college

I'm guessing this person is a troll? This is his/her first post...

Just_Browsing, I put my friend's name, comma, and "Friend." I just fail. DARN. I have no future.

That won't count against you.

It might give the Admissions a laugh, but other than that, you're good to go. Don't sweat it.
