In my activities section, for activities I did in summer after junior year, I indicated grade 11. I sent all of my colleges updates correcting this mistake. A few questions:
Are colleges going to think I did nothing in the summer after junior year?
Will they be able to figure out/ignore the mistake?
Does this make a difference?
Was it too late to send updates, considering decisions come back on March 28?
Hey, I actually had this sort of dilemma when I was doing my common application awhile back too! In my case, for activities I did over the summer I actually indicated both years between (sophomore year summer activities = 10 + 11 grade).
Heres your answers:
Are colleges going to think I did nothing in the summer after junior year? - Most likely not, they probably know students make mistakes all the time and they aren’t going to be “nicky picky” about this kind of stuff.
Will they be able to figure out/ignore the mistake? - Yes.
Does this make a difference? Nope. The colleges care about the quality of your extracurriculars, not when you did them. They usually assume that you are doing the EC during 11 grade, being the sophomore to junior summer timeline.
Was it too late to send updates, considering decisions come back on March 28? It doesn’t matter either way. It seems you are just a little paranoid, and thats understandable. Honestly, whether or not your colleges see them is non-consequential. Unless your updates involve curing cancer, attending a internship abroad, creating a successful business, or winning a national award, it will not have an impact on your application.
All the best. (◠﹏◠✿)
