lol.. :)

I don't like the interface at all...I will be sticking with PC =)

I've done a CRUD LOAD of research and there are definitely some things I don't really love about Macs, but I might be getting one anyway. Nothing that really breaks the deal. My desktop can stay a Dell and that's all lovely and nice but I really don't want a PC* laptop.

(*Yes, I realize macs are technically also PCs. You know what I mean.)

Just call it a Windows laptop.

Also people getting a mac, bandwagon effect. So true.

Yeah, most people don't really know what it is, just that it's hip. Then again, the average person doesn't care what it is anyway, so whatever.

i hate it when people are like "omf it's so cute" and buy macbook, without knowing how to use a mac.. or even aware that they are about to use a mac os.

reply to theoryhybridlp
I'm not a mac user (yet), but I'm wondering why you think its a bandwagon effect. Isn't using a PC more of a bandwagon effect? More people irrationaly say OSX sucks and isn't compatible with some of their programs without having looked at the actual OS and then end up getting windows. Although I agree that there are LOTS of stupid apple fanboys, I don't think its mutually exclusive...

And +1 to hunj...I just in general hate people who buy any electronics ithout actually having researched them first.

and I thought the main market segment for mac buyer are those "Oh this computer is so pretty, I'm getting this cute pink color for my laptop because I'm so cute" kinda people. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Really? I didn't know that lol

Macs have a terrific color scheme...
Black, White, and silver.
Vibrant, I tell you.

alright, so will you guys come down from your pedestal and tell me why people should get a mac then? i'm interested to hear this.

Re: Good Game
Sorry if I gave the impression that all Mac users are just fanboys. Even I got caught up with the crowd and bought an iPhone when it came out and got ****ed when the price dropped. I probably would be using a Mac right now if I weren't aware about its problems with compatibility. I'm just seeing people flocking buy the next Apple product without knowing what problems they'll run into, not the other way around.

Undoubtedly some of this is justified, since Vista outright sucks due to its DRM & the UAC always asking for permission for the simplest tasks. The only real improvement over XP I've noticed so far is just eye candy. Microsoft has taken notice and is trying to roll out Windows 7 by 2010. A lot of companies are holding off orders to update their computers, worried that it'll be obsolete in a few years. That's why I still use XP.

And there are some advantages to using OS X v. Windows: friendlier UI, better programs for music & video production/editing, less problems with viruses. I have a friend whose parents worked at Apple and is primarily a Windows user, but bought OS X just for Garageband and Logic Pro (music production software).

If you have time, take a look at the OSx86 project, which allows you to run OS X on your regular PC hardware.

What do you mean "even [you]"? I found it pretty easy to resist getting one for all this time :P

iPhone? I'm waiting for some Android-compatible phones to come out. It'll be like the Macintosh in the 80s - it was popular until Windows came along and separated the hardware from the software, spurring a lot more hardware innovation. Except this time, the operating system will be open source, so we don't have to use Android if it's not good, or we can change it. There'll be none of the crap that Windows users are going through now.

I almost died when I saw a pink dell laptop being sold at best buy.
