I really hope it's not over....

Hey guys, this is my first post/thread on this forum. I've been worried about College Admissions for months now and I would browse this website for hours on end without signing up and finally decided that to find my answers, I should ask them myself.

Anyway, I'm a decent student and have applied to 19 colleges total, I'm paranoid about getting acceptance letters from my reaches and targets. Now more than ever, my paranoia begins to proliferate as the eve of my 1st Semester looms. I have been a decent student. Freshman Year I took 8 classes and got 3.0 UW GPA. Sophomore Year, I moved to California and did even better earning a 3.67 GPA. Junior Year, I had to deal with an ample amount of plights and my grade dropped to a 3.0 UW again. I failed Geometry (I'm bad at Math, don't tease), but took the course again and applied myself during the summer for an A- along with supplementing an explanation for my failure in all my college applications.

Now comes the end of my 1st Semester, I'm a good student, I have only 4 courses because I was supposed to graduate early but somehow the system changed andD me which threw my plans off-course. I have an A in English, A in AP Gov, B in Physics, and am failing PreCalculus (once again, bad at Math). The problem is, I worked really hard and for my last test studied over 20 hours including 9 hours with an after-school tutor and failed once more. I'm a very well-rounded student but unfortunately lack in 1 subject area. If I put the effort that I put into Math into any other course I would receive an A. It's too late to tell Colleges that so can you give me a general idea of my admissions fate?

Stats:
GPA: 3.3 UW Cumulative, 3.75 1st Semester (PreCalculus changed to Pass/Fail)
AP/Honors Classes: 5 over the past 4 years in Public School (Sophomore Year at Charter School, all classes count as college-prep on transcript)
SAT: 1700
SAT II: Literature 620, AP US History 590
AP Exams: US History 4, English Comp 3, Government Pending
ACT: 29
Letters of Recommendation from: Lawyer I interned with, 2 teachers, Guidance Counselor
Plenty of Community Service/Involvement: Did not keep track of hours until Senior Year due to its irrelevance at the time, I wanted to benefit people not get college rep.

Aspirated Colleges:
University of Rochester (Top Choice)
Syracuse University
Union College
New York University (expecting rejection/don't care)
Fordham University
George Washington University
American University
University of Pittsburgh

Please give an honest opinion. If the truth is brutal, hit me.

Did you ask for financial aid?

If some of those schools are “need aware,” and don’t require 4 years of math, they might overlook this.

I did ask for financial aid, my parents have been in a downward financial spiral since around 2003 and haven’t been able to recoup finances. I sent my CSS already and am going to fill my FAFSA this weekend.

The fact that I am weak at Math is obvious through my scores which is what gives me some solace:
-Never received an A in any Math course (besides remedial Geometry), highest grade a B
-29 Cumulative ACT - 23 on Math portion unbalanced my grade

Other than that, I am fairly bright in my other courses, like previously mentioned I will receive a 3.75 UW GPA since my PreCal course is discounted from my grade. All the colleges that I applied to do not require 4 years Math, but recommend it.

Here is further information that I saw I should add from “How to improve the chances or chances threads”

Rank 110-440

Weighted GPA - Senior Year 4.0, Junior Year 3.4

UC GPA - Cumulative 3.62??? (might have filled form wrong but all Sophomore classes count as college-prep)

ACT Subscores - 23 Math, 30 English, 34 Reading, 28 Science, 10 Essay, 30 Eng+Essay Combined

EC’s - co-founder of school’s Rugby club, hopefully will become a team in 2 years (after I’m gone though), Speech and Debate Junior Year, Interned with Lawyer, Community Service for APAPA/HandsonSacto

Honors - Nobel Society for High School Scholars Recognition

Essay, bold and controversial topic which connects deeply to the subject and also relates deeply to the motivation for success that I found in my life. Rochester interviewer commented that he enjoyed the topic but found that is somewhat risque.

Anyone got any opinions about my situation?
