<p>Okay please don't bite my head off...this is the cc cafe...but I really like Avril Lavigne. I don't understand why everyone dislikes her. She is beautiful, can sing, and actually writes her own music. Why do people have beef with her?</p>
<p>She thinks she is a badazz and she most definately is not.</p>
<p>Did you know she wrote Kelly Clarkson's song "Since You Been Gone"? And you can tell, because Kelly wasn't all "punk" like that before.</p>
<p>I don't have anything against her, but I'm not big fan, either. I do respect that she at least supposedly writes her own songs. The people I know who really despise her seem to base their hate on the way she's allowed herself to be packaged by "the machine." Basically, they see her as a total poser. Of course, most of these people are scene music freaks who hate anything that anybody else has ever heard of and have the mentality that if it's pop, it automatically sucks. Shoot. Some of these same people think Rilo Kiley are total sellouts. I dunno ... I have better things to do than go around hating on pop stars ... I like what I like. :)</p>

<p>I think she's pop, but I do like the majority of her songs. My like for them doesn't last as long for other types of music, but I definitely like her music. (I think her attitude kind of stinks but I don't follow enough of her to really have a solid opinion about that.) I like everything under the sun from Ashlee Simpson to Simon & Garfunkle to foreign music, etc. I hide the fact that I like her music except from my closest friends. It's nice to know someone other than middle school girls likes her music too. You're not in middle school, right?</p>
<p>I don't hate her, but I can understand why others might. She contrives a fake "angry at the world" attitude.</p>
<p>She may write her own songs, but that's hardly an accomplishment considering their quality. I think she's immature.</p>
<p>Well she tries to play rock, but stinks at it, so people just dismiss it as <em>not rock</em>; believe it or not, she actually tried to play Knockin' on Heaven's Door</p>

<p>I think she's a pretty girl. I think she could "grow" well. She has the Alanis-potential, minus the angst (hers is just ordinary teen angst anyway).</p>

<p>avril's voice is pure cacophony. Despite the pleasant melody of her "complicated" song, I cannot call it music. In the world of pop culture, my favorite bands and singers include "sting", gowan, the beatles, bob dylan, and supertramp. There are other bands i really like, but those are some of my favorites. I absolutely hate punk rock, and alice cooper type rock, whatever it's called(something metal). 50% of my love in music stems from the art of classical music.</p>
