I really like Georgetown! Please help with some chances!

I am a native american male(URM) from Oklahoma and I am interested in applying to the undergrad business school at Georgetown. Scores were: 2100 sat, 32 act. I may be able to get my scores up.
GPA-Cum.3.7ish, 3.8since freshman year. I recieved a 3.5 gpa freshman year which brought me down. 12ish/340
EC's-
1.I am a very competitive tennis player at a top 10 junior academy in the US. I am nationally ranked and have been playing since I was young. This is probably my biggest, most enjoyed passion.
2.Volunteer work-I have recieved tons of volunteer work at places I have enjoyed. Particularly CF(cystic fibrosis) volunteering due to personal reasons, and I may mention something about the volunteering in my essays.
3. Started my own business- I started my own, online art business. I do not produce the art, but I travel very frequently and pick up a few pieces to sell everywhere I go, and buy pieces over the internet from unsigned artists and then sell them. I have a website, but I frequently do business over EBAY. I have made a few thousand dollars doing this business since the beginning of sophomore year. I will spend an hour a day max working on the business though-its not my life.

I may apply early but I am not sure. Chances :) ?

By the way, my school is top 300 in the nation, but I do not know how. It's not competitive at all. Best applicant we have seen was this past year, and she is going to Duke. Everyone goes to CC or state school....

Please????????

I definately think that you are in with your #s and ecs.

Good luck.

Thank you! Any more feedback?

Hopefully as positive as the last..... =)

alright... Native American by itself will get you in... not trying to imply anything, but just putting the truth like it is... and you have solid SATs and ECs... I would be very surprised if you did not get in...

thank you...Im hoping to use it as a match school then? would this be safe?

I would say you are a match for even Harvard (though I really shouldn't because some people will get ****ed off), but again this is because of your Native American minority status... even if you weren't you would have a shot, but your URM status is a great boost... I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to downplay your personal accomplishments...

Thank you! I plan on applying to Princeton, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Upenn and some safeties as of now... hopefully I will see some positive results

I'm in approximately the same boat as you (higher SAT/ACT, same GPA, #3 ranked school, Tennis) but I have less EC's and not native american. I would say that you have a slightly higher chance with the Native american status. Anyway, I'd say you have about a 60/40 chance, but lower if you apply for the SFS. Then I'd say 40/60

Did you take any AP's, and if so, what scores? The georgetown admissions office said that one of the most important things was strength of schedule.

Yes I did take AP's. All 4's and 5's. More 5's though. I have had some really crappy AP teachers though, so I did A TON of self studying...

natew, I think you're as good as IN. Even to Princeton and all those other ivies you mentioned. One of my close friends last year was Native American and had almost the same stats/ec's as you (except for tennis and the business) and got into Harvard. Hope you don't get offended or anything, but having extremely URM status can do wonders.

Thank you kornpopz...I'm really glad I am hearing positive things. I am most definitely not offended, but I know the minority helps.
Thank you!!!
