Become an eskimo from a tribe who is borderline extinction. Should take 2, 3 hours tops.

^ haha. that's pretty funny.

If you need to look for "your hook", then you don't have one.

Put your best efforts forward and be confident that you'll get to a great program, even if it's not some USNWR annointed "top" school.

take some craze Dual enrollment course over the summer, or next year, like if you took ap chem this year, take Ochem next year. Do some research at a uni too if you can. That should help

i knowww this wasent the best question in the world but id appreciate if someone would attempt to ANSWER the question, and not poke holes/shot it down

How are we supposed to find YOUR hook if you can't even find it? We don't know you or your hobbies, so how are we supposed to help you find your hook? Most likely, if YOU don't know what it is, you don't have one. A lot of people don't. it's ok. We would answer the question, but there really is no legitimate answer to your question.

There is no question. You either have a hook or you don't. Chances are if you don't know it no one else will.

I happened to be a nationally ranked athlete. That was my hook. I knew it and I used it because I love my sport and the school that I was being recruited by.

A hook is more something that comes from a unique talent. Since we don't know you, we wouldn't know your talents.

Hooks are nice, but are not necessary. I didn't have any "hook" and I still got into Duke. Hooks are usually like athlete or URM, its something that separates you innately from the rest of the applicant pool.

You shouldn't invest your time in a hook just for a college, it should be for your own personal interests-- not what you think a college would like to see. If you have to go searching for one, you don't have one and if you're a senior, now's not the time to go looking for one just to impress a college. Just play up your current strengths and invest your time in your grades and other ECs, I'll restate the above ^^ hooks are nice, but not necessary.

Hooks vary by school; they are things like athletics, ethnicity, state of residence, international citizenship, legacy, first generation, religion, musical and artistic talents, applying to component schools or special academic programs, and in some cases, even gender. High school is a bit late to start developing talents, and the rest are mostly inherited in some form.

okay hahaha sorry just dont pay attention to this question/thread anymore!
