I really need help deciding between Cal Poly Slo, San Diego State, and Miami

I'm going into engineering next year and I have no idea which school to choose! (Between Cal Poly SLO, San Diego State, and the University of Miami Ducks) I'm looking for the school as a whole, including education, sports (school spirit) Greek life, etc. Albeit my tough major, I would really love to have the real college experience. Some of the issues I'm having is that a lot of people I know are going to Cal Poly, and being the kind of person who really wanted to start over, I don't necessarily want to see everyone every day(not that that's the most important, I'm just voicing all of my concerns). I've likewise heard that Cal Poly has a better engineering program than SDSU, but I'm not sure if that is true.

I'm just afraid of getting stuck at a place that I'm not happy with. I currently live in Santa Cruz

SDSU probably has a higher commuter population than CPSLO.

CPSLO should be large enough that you are unlikely to be seeing your high school classmates much.

Cost differences?

As a former resident of Santa Cruz, I know exactly what you mean. With that said, would you rather live in another small town/world (SLO) for the next four years or in a city with so many fun things to do it’s mind boggling? Let me put it to you another way. San Diego is everything Santa Cruz wishes it could be. I think you will love and appreciate sunny and happy San Diego! And who knows, you may never want to leave. Then you’ll be in the right place for SD’s job recruiters.
