Now for EDii i really like Bucknell but i'm thinking they'll just reject me like colgate did...
i'm also considering F&M and trinity. What do you think? Thank you!

thanks for your reply, but isn’t bucknell basically just as hard to get into as colgate? i didn’t even get wait listed at colgate, they flat out rejected me…

I’m surprised Colgate flat out rejected you. Your CR score needs to be bumped up but your grades should carry a lot of weight. Do you have a college counselor at school who will give you feedback on your apps/essays? Don’t feel deflated. Find a couple of options you would be happy with-reaches, possibles, likelies, and make your applications show who YOU are and why their school is where you really want to be. Our daughter had a rocky run her last two years of high school but is gifted beneath it all and her acceptances and rejections were all over the place. She got in to some really strong scchools and was rejected at more moderate selections. Try to understand what each school values the most and have your application paint your picture in that light.

Dont worry. You have much to be proud of and the schools you have listed should all be reallistic options for you.

thank you very much! i’m just really shaken up after being rejected, but i know that i have to continue trying. I just can’t decided if applying to bucknell ED is worth it, or if i should go for a school that’s not as academically challenging.

How much can you afford? What exactly attracted you to Colgate, and would you prefer to stay in the Northeast? Here are some recommendations off the top of my head for schools similar to Colgate but way less selective:
-Hobart and William Smith College
-Union Collge
-Lafayette College
-Denison University
-Trinity College
-Sewanee
-SUNY Geneseo
-St. Lawrence University
-Ithaca College
-Allegheny College

I think you are competitive for Bucknell. Same w Trinity. Both excellent schools. The question is if you would be willing to go if you were accepted. ED is making an enrollment commitment so you need to be willing to commit. Decide what is important to you and look for schools that are a good fit for you.

Unfortunately your scores really do detract from your app. Bucknell rates scores as very important and level of interest important. It would be a reach. Whenhen’s recommendations are less competitive than Colgate but your scores will still drag you down.

Since you don’t LOVE any other school, do not apply ED! Apply RD to a bunch after investigating the suggestions above. That way you can compare FA or merit aid offers and will have *time *to figure out which one you like as much as you liked Colgate. You would be guessing at this point!
What about Hamilton?
If your SAT score is little weaker than your GPA why not try a test optional school?
[SAT/ACT Optional 4-Year Universities | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest) - Bowdoin, Bates, Colby, Clark, College of the Holy Cross are on that list among many other fine schools.
