I received a 760 on my math II subject test. Is it wise for me to retake if I want to apply to MIT?

Apparently a 760 is in the 63rd percentile for math II scores. If I’m thinking of sending an application to MIT next year, how significantly does this score impact me, and is it worth retaking to get a 780+?

Given that there is almost an equal probability that your score could go down, you might want to do a cost/benefit analysis on this. What would the prep time impact?

In our holistic admissions process, we consider quantifications like test scores, but we also care deeply about factors like your match with MIT. Qualitative characteristics like these are much harder to quantify and are therefore not included in the tables below despite their centrality to our process.

That said, an older version of the page stated that the middle 50% of students scored between 780 and 800 on the math Subject Tests.
