Hello,
I applied several UC campuses last November. I received an email from UCR’s financial aid office today requesting my parents to provide an update on the 2018 tax info on my FAFSA account. At the end of this email, it stated “we urge you to take action on the requirement immediately. No financial aid award can be calculated for you until you complete this process…”
Has anyone received the same/similar email from any of the UC financial aid offices? Although UCR is not my dream school, I wonder if this letter implies something about my admission to UCR. Correct me if I am mistaken. Thank you.
Get them the info they need ASAP, but I wouldn’t read to much into it. FA offices often do their calculations simultaneously with admissions rather than after.
Any insight @Gumbymom?
I agree, do not read anything into this email contact. They need to have all the FA packages available once decisions start posting. Just comply with their request.
We also got this. We called and UCR told us this email was sent in error. They sent it to all the families who did the FAFSA manually and not using the DRT. I explained because of a rollover we couldn’t use the DRT. There are many reasons why the DRT cannot be used. She said to disregard it was sent in error. She also said they received hundreds of calls on this. That to get our tax transcript ready just in case they audited. Which we have ready to provide.
It is common to receive this is you didn’t use the DRT.
