I Refuse!

Since the deadline is drawing close and we don't really have anything else to do,but wonder and wait, I thought it would be fun to make this thread. This thread is for all the people who are refusing to cave in and do a chances thread!

So what do you do with it--this thread? I didn't do a chance thread when I applied to college two years back. Why? Because it not exactly rocket science guessing where you'll end up. Plus, asking people my chance wouldn't benefit me in anway. Perhaps I would be a bit more delusion of my chances if random strangers rate my chances higher through whatever superficial means (which I'm guilty of). I knew I wanted going to Boston College, and I ended up at Boston College. No mystery there.

I don't know. I was just bored :D You don't have to reply if you don't want to.

I agree with you, waterfall. I refused to do chances myself. Afterall, am i going to "trust" what someone here says? I believe it will be more productive for next year applicants if we post our credentials after we know of the decision...dont u think? Then people could get an idea themselves...

I admire the sentiment (chances threads are pretty useless), but, ummmmmm... why start a new thread?

Also, Reddune, while I'm glad you had a simple and straightforward college admissions process, it's different for different people- for some people it's very confusing and nervewracking. It was for me (though I feel like I kept a sense of perspective about it).

i think it'll be interesting to do a thread of the accuracy of people who predict people's chances at the top unis, like gauge whether the general consensus what positive or negative for someone's chances and then see if they got in.

I recon it would show that people on here aren't that great at predictions...

I think in many of the cases, people post chances threads just so they can hear positive comments from others. This is a pretty good way to reduce anxiety and boost self-confidence. I can totally sympathize with those people, cuz after all, all the applicants are going through a tough time right now.
