I Screwed In The Past In The Sat !! Is There Any Hope For Me Still?

Hello,

So please help me. I would like to know if there is any hope for me still.

Here is the thing. I am international and I had no idea what the SAT was. I decided to take it just because I knew I would have to take it in the near future.

I took my first SAT in November 2004 - I went so BADD I cancelled the thing

I then decided I could take it for a second time in the 22nd January since that would be the last time the Old SAT would be offered. HOWEVER

there was a traffic jam in the way and I got to the test 45 min late at the 2nd or 3rd session I cant remember exactly. I did the test and at the end I had like the first 3 sessions blank so then I simply went and marked any oval cause I tought if I dont get right that wouldnt hurt. (Ok dont blame me I didnt know I would loose marks)... I then decided not to cancel since I really wanted to know how I went cause I tought it would be a waste of my money to cancel again and perhaps there could be a miracle and I could score well..... The result came someday an incredible super: 980 / 1600

Yes 930 !!!! (OLD SAT)

I then decided I would forget about the SAT for one month and would start preparing for it like mad for the end of the year....

Here I am some months later and I improved not a little bit but aLOT... I did several mock exams online and I am doing so much better I am getting 2200-2300 (NEW SAT)

My question is:

Will this 930 kill me.. Can I forget any Ivy's? or it will look really good cause the improvement would be massive?

Is there any way I could hide this 930? MY name is very big and it is very strange as it is in the college board website. Its truncated..

Can my school counselour explain the thing about getting late in the test?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks everyone!!

ok.. no offense.. but for a crucial test such as the SATs.. you simply dont go and fill in ovals aimlessly..

If there is hope, it lies in the proles.

Actually.. if you can achieve a score in the 2200-2300 range.. the ivies would probably pay special attention to such a dramatic improvement.. so yes, there is always hope.

I know for the ACT you can remove past tests from your record completely. You may be able to do that for the SAT. Idk... I didn't even bother with the SAT.

well what do you think you can get on the New SAT if you take it?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think colleges only see your highest scores, unless you already sent your lower score. Either way, if you take it this time, and get in the 2200s, the 930 won't make any difference at all.

I did 4 online already I purchased the oficial guide the first was like on month ago it was below 2000 than I studied more and now I am only scoring the past 3 tests 2200 range.

I think I can still break the 2300 barrier in may

I still have a lot of months to study I plan to take the test in October / November.

I heard someone saying that they send all of my scores!! I hope NOT!

Is it wrong for me to list only my best score on the common application?

EXPLAIN why and how you made that score on your college application

You CAN drop scores.

By the way, how do you create active links and how do you quote stuff for this forum?

Ok I guess I do know how to make links. Nevermind!

just write

[/quote-]
and put the text in between. (REMOVE the - DASHES so it works)

I know it was very stupid.. But I mean I had no idea what I was doing I didnt know the importance of it I tought it would be nice to take the test and see how I scored even without knowing anythig about it or scoring low..

Should I take the ACT and only send the ACT scores in?

Can I only send my highest score in the common app?

Is it better to be tested for both? I mean the SAT and the ACT!

this is my score break down for the last oficial test I took (AT HOME UNDER REAL TEST CONDITIONS) :

Maths = 800
Verbal = 740
Writing = 680

TOTAL = 2220

bump guys please help

You should be fine.

seriouslly you think?

I shouldnt worry and follow my journey?

How do you put those boxed in quotes in there?
