I screwed up - Academic suspension - what to do?

So, here's the deal. I started at a local CC last semester with high hopes. I was taking 4 classes, dropped 2 of them and was put on academic probation. I failed my first semester of college. I talked to a counsler and I had a plan laid out for this semester.

However, I was taking a biology class that required lab time every week. If you missed 3 labs, you failed. So, I missed 3 labs due to work. I tried talking to my professor, she basically said I failed and there was nothing she could do, so I withdrew from my course. Talking to my academic counselor I learned that I would be put on academic suspension for the next year due to not meeting my financial aid requirements.

My questions is, what do I do about this? I plan on telling my mom soon. (My college is paid for by financial aid.) and then what? I'm going to finish up this semester and go talk to a financial aid counselor to see if there isn't anything I can do. (Appeal, etc.) I take full responsibilty for failing/not doing well. I enjoyed my freedom too much, didn't study enough, etc.

At this point, my plan is to finish up at the community college I'm at. Go to a technical college and start in a program there. (Probably paying out of pocket.) Get that done, and eventually go to get my B.A.

So, what should I do for now? What can I do? My college future isn't entirely ruined is it? Any advice is greatly welcomed. Please, no mean comments, I know I effed up.

Get your act together. It’s good that you recognize that it’s your fault for screwing up. Failure happens to everyone at one point or another during college, whether we like to admit it or not. Sit down with your mother and discuss your plan for the next few months. Perhaps you need to reconsider your major? Regardless, it’s time to start working hard. Don’t let yourself crumble any further. Good luck!
