I screwed up...advice?

Well, I thought that I had everything figured out about college until now.

My college decision last week came down to Syracuse University (w/ honors program and a small merit scholarship) and UNC (w/nothing special but in-state tuition).

A couple of weeks ago I went onto Syracuse's financial aid website, checked my account, and saw that the only financial aid I had listed was a 6K merit scholarship. I figured that I was not going to receive any financial aid from Syracuse and made my college decision with that in mind. I figured I could not put my parents through paying for another child to go to SU, and that combined with other factors led me to mail my enrollment deposit to UNC last week.

Fast forward to today, when I get a financial aid notice from Syracuse in the mail. It turns out that Syracuse had given me aid-a good deal of it. This changes the way I look at things (I got into Syracuse's honors program whereas I got nothing from UNC). I don't know if I will want to change schools or not, but at the very least I would like to re-evaluate my decision.

Is it too late for that? Am I locked into Carolina now that they have my money?

Any advice ASAP is VERY appreciated!!

Thanks!

nope, you can rescind your enrollment. the $100 enrollment fee is non-refundable, but its only $100. just make sure everythign is set by may 1

You haven't technically double deposited yet, which is a big no-no, so call UNC-CH and explain the situation.

i actually enrolled at UNC but was told I can change up until May 1 and get money back, but after that if i don't show up, i forfeit that.
I am still fence sitting....but UNC made me a very attractive pkg.
Hey, IT IS COLD as ((& in syracuse. Are you sure about this? I used to live in Rochester.

I'm not sure about anything; I just want to know that I can still change my mind IF I choose to do so. Thanks for the input though!
