I like to consider myself a qualified student- I’m a junior this year and I’ve taken 9 AP classes-soon to take more next year. I’m currently ranked in the top 5 out of over 800 students and I have a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.1471. I’ve taken the ACT once and received a 33, and I’ve taken the SAT once, receiving a 2150. I plan to take both again to increase my scores. As far as extracurricular’s go, I play tennis, am involved in Student Government, National Honors Society, and I’m captain of the Engineering Club and the Debate Team. I was thinking about applying to colleges like Stanford, CalTech, and maybe even Yale.
HOWEVER…
I recently found out that I screwed up my AP Calculus AB final BIG TIME, and am going to get a 79% in the course. The teacher is adamantly against rounding as well. Is there any hope for me? Can I still get into top schools like Stanford?? It doesn’t affect my GPA that much, but it’ll show my transcript. Should I even waste the $90 applying??
