Everything has worked out so far. Yale, Brown, Notre Dame, and Northwestern have all emailed me back and said they will replace the statement. For Johns Hopkins, I had to fax in the change and for Duke I had to send it through snail mail.

if the deadline has not passed, then im sure they will accomodate you in some way. you should call the admissions office and explain you sent in the incorrect draft of your personal statement and ask if there is anyway they can put the new one in your profile in stead or if you can resubmit your app on paper. you should call though, emails dont always get through

Vanderbilt is the only school I’m waiting to hear back on. Every other school said they’d put the new personal statement in my file.

Glad things are working out. Vandy may not have responded yet because it’s probably busy with ED. Even after ED decisions are mailed, admissions offices are flooded with phone calls from rejected students.

You’re not the only one. I put “Duke University” on the resume that i sent to UNC. I really don’t think that those 7 schools will reject you simply because of this mistake.

It’s an honest mistake. Call each office and tell them that Stanford was your first choice, meaning your personal statement obviously focused on Stanford as a school, and that you’d like to send a revised one in the mail.
