I screwed up my first midterm:(

Well, I think I've done all I can. I've pretty much memorized my notes/outlines so that I'm prepared to simply regurgitate the info onto the blue book (sorry for the visual). I'm going to get up a little earlier, look over my notes, and well...we'll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone with midterms!

Thanks, bfired.
It feels like I just started school.

oh sh it, I missed 16 questions. :( I thought I missed 12 or 13 after I got the answers. :( It's not even 70%. Totally screwed up:(

Wait... the hardest midterm exam you've taken in your three years here was a 50-question multiple-choice exam? What's your major?

I mean it's the hardest "multiple choice" exam. :(

That's probably a D. :(

The total for that course is 200, now I've already lost 16 and another 3.5 points in quizzes. That's 10% of the total. :( I was moving home durinig wk3, so I got no time to study.

ShirleyxY- aren't you a transfer? why did I think you were a transfer?

because if you're a transfer it would make this test the hardest of your college career thus far, but that's not abnormal if it's your first at UCLA.

I'm confused now.

Yeah, I thought she was a transfer too.
So she is a freshman then?

Yes, I'm a transfer. But I used to have very difficult exams that getting 60/100 is the highest in the class.

I'm just a little bit disappointed, cuz I learned most of stuff for this course beforehand.

Sometimes tests are just hard.

It'll be fine.

I've just overheard a few people said their grades are around 36, 37. So, I'm a little bit below average. That means I probably get a C.

I got a B on my midterm and even when you factor in the quizzes I'm still in the B+ range. I've never had a B before this (j/k, of course)!!! I hope that I can at least fall into the A- range by the end of the quarter.

You've got lots of time. As far as I'm concerned, having a B+ is a good place to be after midterms. It means that as long as you do marginally better on the final, and keep up with hw/papers/quizzes, you're totally safely in the A- to A range.

Well, I took the midterm this morning and although there were no surprises, I don't feel as good as I thought I would. I mean, two of the three essays I had to write were actual sample questions I had asked myself the night before, but there was one where I had to choose two of four historical time periods and explain the significance to the party system, so I picked two, but halfway through the first, I realize I could've written a stronger essay with another period, so it threw me off but it was too late to start over, so I finished the test with a nagging feeling that I should've picked something else. I feel like I'm totally over-analyzing it, but hey, it's my first UCLA exam and I tend to stress and think I did a lot worse than I actually did. Hopefully that's the case. I don't know if that even made sense.

I have a midterm tomorrow and I haven't yet read anything (i do intend to, soon).

Which is why it's a very good thing this class is a joke.

^

With your schedule, I don't think I could start studying until the night before.

Pretty much.

Doesn't hurt that this material is really, really basic though. Yay for rote memorization.

The mean for this midterm is 36, now I confirm that I get 34. So, what grade is it? C or B-? I asked my prof and he said b-. I'm not quite sure if it's real, cuz he was talking with other people.

I felt so dumb today. When I went to my prof's office, I was forced to sit around him and talked about the exam questions with other students. But I just don't know how to do the question he asked. holy sh$$ :(

I should go to UCR instead. :(

LOL. Stop putting yourself down.
I had a similar experience today. Don't think anything about having "stupid" questions. If you don't get something then ask. There is nothing wrong with that.

Well, but I got a weird look from him. :(
