I screwed up my first midterm:(

Stop being so self-conscious.
What's your major?

let's see:

Oct 31 - EE2 Midterm

Nov 6 - Astr 5, ENGR 183, Com Sci M51A Midterms + 5-page paper due

yea, I feel fine

^ Citan
wow..

 wow .

where are midterm grades posted? like do they give the midterm back in class or does it become posted somewhere no ursa or something?

you can check test grades on your my.ucla (scroll to courses and click grades)

My midterm was totally owned.

omgsoeasy.

Maybe MyUCLA?

my teacher gave them back in class. I failed......... lol :)

first time ever.
but i guess thats what i get for not going to lecture even once and only reading 3 out of 4 chapters.

I guess i did really well considering the above. i got a 59.

there is no curve. but i doubt anyone got an A as well, the average for that class is usually a C.

YAYA for failing with style!

If you don't mind my asking, why bother taking the test at all? If you're not even going to put in the effort, why waste the hour taking a test that you're guaranteed to fail? I'm sure you can find something better to do with your time.

umm 59 is better than a 0 . ........ and i techinically thought i would guess my way on the T/F portion to a 70

The T/F part was hard. .... i dont know how other people did, but i highly doubt people did all that well considering that a lot of people didnt even know that the past midterms were avaialbe online.

Citan,

You are my hero!

I got the results of my first midterm today. I got a B-, which was a big disappointment since I studied so damn hard for this test (I read each chapter at least 5 or 6 times). On Monday, I'm going to talk with the TA and try to get it raised to a B, but I still feel that I deserved at least a B+.

AZman, are you a transfer student or a freshman?

I really like the fact the science/engineering department is curved. (sarcasm)

Thermodynamics - First Midterm
Average: 90/100
Standard Deviation: 10

Basically you get an 80 or 100. I studied my butt off and I got an 80. Great, now I get a C. Should be, "Welcome to Engineering, your GPA will go down with the annals of time."

Edit: Principles of Chemical Processes.
Average: 78
Standard Deviation: 12

I was very close to getting a 100%. Let's just say don't try to hold in a **** from drinking 1 gallon of water and expect to do well on a test.

Sigh. Last midterm/paper due on Tuesday morning. Exactly one week after the professor laughed at everyone before disbursing our intro papers because "oh, you are all just so funny what with all that terrible writing". This totally makes me want to just write and write and write about pyramids forever with all of my funny terrible writing and omg. Sucks so much. I really don't want to write this paper.

I am inching closer and closer to total school burn out by the day.

Malishka,,,I got 94 on Allen's econ 107...... you are not very smart to take the test when you aren't prepared. Allen's policy is if you missed the 1st midterm, you 2nd midterm will be given more weight to make up for that.

it could be because i dont care not because i am not very smart. i got into ucla somehow right?

i didnt know if you miss the 1st exam the second one will have more weight.

ehh.. i hav eno desire to study.

***, this is the dark side of curving.

The average on your thermo test was a 90? The prof needs to make his tests harder. A test with a super-high average is just as useless as one with a super-low one.
