Colleges I applied to:

Harvard
Princeton
Dartmouth
University of Chicago
Georgetown
Rice
Middlebury
UT - Austin Plan II

What do you guys think? I feel I have a solid chance at all minus HP, but I am kind of worrying about my essays now. I think I tried too hard to be quirky and esoteric. Oh well. At least I managed to keep my pedantic rhetoric under control.

Thanks!

Oh, btw, I sent in a music demo, and I want to major in either political science, philosophy, or international studies.

I think Harvard and Princeton will be a stretch, your stats are really good, and it seems like you had a hook in music, so I think you have a chance. But of course, that depends on your essays too. As long as they weren't too off the wall, I think you should be fine. You have a really good chance at Dartmouth, but its hard to say for sure since Ivies are so weird and random about admissions these days. I'd say that for Chicago, Georgetown, etc., you're in.

HPY are always stretches, even as a top grade musician. Many, many talented musicians, particularly pianists and violinists at these schools. Your academic profile certainly has you in the running, and the rest is just really a lottery ticket. Good luck, as you certainly do have the material for these schools.

your class has a 1200 PEOPLE?!?!?! wow.

coming from a fellow applicant with a music hook, i think you have a great chance at all of those schools - even harvard and princeton. did you send a cd and/or a resume detailing your musical experience?

how many competitions have you won?
