I Sent College Application Before Deadline, but They Received It After the Deadline

I sent college applications to schools a couple hours before the midnight deadline on Nov. 1 so I could reread and edit them as much as possible. I got confirmation emails from the Common App but only got confirmations from schools a day later. One school even took almost a week before they said they received it. I was told that it only matters that I sent my applications before the deadline, it doesn’t matter if the colleges receive it a little late. Is this true, or are my applications actually late? I can’t find anything online to answer my question. All I could find was that if you actually sent the application late (which I did not do) then it is just up to the school if they want to be strict about it or not.

When a school receives your application is different from when they downloaded it is different from when they acknowledged it. The elves were not working at midnight on the due date to process your application. It’s likely fine, but I won’t make a blanket statement without knowing the college. You can always call them and ask.

And some schools require you to get it in by midnight in your time whereas other schools require midnight their time zone. Hope you checked.
