Do you think I would be a good match for Kenyon in both academics and extracurricular interests? I'm a little worried that Kenyon isn't so strong in the sciences. I love its strength in writing, however, and that's a big draw, but I don't want to feel out of place as a somewhat science-focused person in a school of mostly writers.

Kenyon is not mostly writers, but rather well known for that. 2. What makes you think Kenyon is not strong in the sciences? There are amazing science students at Kenyon, many of whom go on to various graduate and professional schools. I can give you specific professors to contact for info if you have a strong interest in certain departments. Something that you will find is the Kenyon science curriculum (and most other areas of study) encourages strong writing skills, with a noticeable lack of multiple choice exams. I was very comfortable at Kenyon...no one will shun you for spending long hours in the lab ;)

I would say your stats look good, but you lack sports ECs. It would be helpful to have something on your app related to athletics, even if it is just ultimate frisbee, racquet ball, running in your spare time etc. Also, the adcom will love that your English and reading ACT scores are higher than your pretty decent math and science scores.

I don't think Kenyon's not strong in the sciences, I'm just under the impression that it's not as strong in science as it is in writing/the humanities.

Sports? Really? I'm not a particularly athletic person, and have never played organized sports, but I enjoy sports when I do them, especially dancing and swimming (good for Kenyon I guess). How would I/should I represent this on my app if it is not a significant part of my life?

That's what I thought too, about the ACT scores :D sweet.

Mention the Kenyon Athletic Center in one of your essays (part of Why Kenyon? perhaps) and how you hope to enjoy the fine facility ;) Also, you could say that you would like to take some dance electives to continue your enjoyment of dance...

Just my opinion that you should present yourself as an extremely well rounded applicant any way you can.

I don't think you necessarily need to mention anything about sports activities if you weren't involved. Your stats look good, and I'd say just don't worry too much about it. If you show your genuine interest in Kenyon, I'm sure the adcoms will catch it. It seems like you're a great fit! :)

i think you've got a great shot at kenyon...i know kids going there who have had less impressive stats than you and got in without too much difficulty. your ranking shows that you are a strong student in your school, which is great. good work!!

The point is not just to get in, but to also get scholarship money...

Your stats and GPA are similar to DD1. If the eval is similar you should get in with something like $9K in scholarships. Good luck.
