I share a shower with three other people...sandals necessary?

they could secretly be peeing in the shower or not telling you about fungus, you never know. keep lysol with you just in case lol

hyperJulie, our bathroom floor gets wet every time someone takes a shower. Water mists out, people drip out of the shower, ect. Fungus could just as easily(if not more easily) survive on a floor not being constantly bombarded with running soap and water.

I know people use the “pee is sterile” bit, but I read somewhere that once it hits the air, it is no longer clean :frowning: That grossed me out simply because I know someone peed in the shower at my own house one time and they didn’t rinse the tub properly!!! There was a small puddle of pee lingering! I’m sort of a germ-phobe so I was kind of ‘eeked’ that they didn’t at least rinse with water properly!

Anyway, I felt like I had to share that. I just assume that everyone pees in the tub, thus I use bleach and/or flip flop…

I never did, nothing ever happened. If everyone else is wearing sandals, then they won’t be spreading anything. I don’t know of anyone that caught anything.

^^ yeah i just assume too lol, better to be safe than sorry :)

My brother shared a bathroom with four people and got a fungal infection on the foot. I mean why not? Doesn’t hurt to play it safe…

Get a cheap pair, use them, and live off-campus next year if you value your health. Collective showering is just creepy to begin with; it is supposed to be a private activity.
