I shouldn't even bother applying right

<p>Hello I am a high senior and was just wondering what you guys thought my chances are of getting into Umich for the College of Arts and Sciences for the fall of 2011.</p>

<p>I attend a highly competitive public school in NJ that is consistenly ranked in the top 10 in the state. We send around 20 something kids to Ivies each year an many to top 25 schools.
Around 40 something into umich every year
So I am a urm: African American male</p>

<p>Gpa: 3.4uw 3.6w</p>

<p>Course load: mostly honors classes and I have taken 3 Ap classes government, us history , and french</p>

<p>SAT: combined 1770 only two sections is 1190
Cr: 620 math:570 writing: 580</p>

<p>I think my essays were pretty good and I'm sure my recs were great my teachers both loved me.</p>

<p>As of now I was accepted into : Penn state university park
Temple Drexel Hofstra and university of Pittsburgh And rutgers new Brunswick </p>

<p>So thank you to everyone in advance for reading my post. I really appreciate any input you have to give. Sorry if this post looks weird. I don't have any chance right lol just making sure so I don't waste my time

<p>Most people who get in usually get in through EA (Early Action). </p>

<p>You can still apply (if it’s not too late for RD), but you probably won’t have that great of a chance. </p>

<p>In my opinion, you shouldn’t waste your money/effort.</p>

<p>Maybe ur $40 will help fund a new TV in my hall. I say go for it.</p>

<p>I’m from Michigan and if you were in state you might have a shot, but U of M is pretty stingy to out of staters. If money isn’t an issue then you might as well go for it, who knows, they might see something in your application they really like.</p>

<p>U of M’s been trying to increase its minority population by a lot. If you’re interested, I’d definitely say to apply.</p>

<p>I would say apply for no other reason than the fact you are an URM. With how much, UM cares about diversity, it raises your chances considerably.</p>
