I simply have to ask....

Retake? I know this is the word of the hour, and I thereby appreciate any insightful opinions:

October 1st, 2011 SAT I Reasoning (first time)

Breakdown:

Critical Reading - 760
Math - 730
Writing - 800 (80/10)

Total - 2290

I know that I made extremely stupid mistakes on 2 of the 3 Math problems I answered incorrectly, and that with enough practice, I can score an 800M on the next test. CR is something of a wild card, but I feel confident about repeating, if not surpassing this score. Writing will most likely be the same.

So my question is, should I retake it? I feel reasonably confident that a retake could net me a 2350+, and that score seems a lot more secure for schools like HYPS (I'm Asian).

Again, thanks for your time.

you are… a junior?

I am a junior. sorry, forgot that little detail.

I retook 2260 to a 2360 superscore, i’d say you could but don’t worry about it too much. My brother got into Yale with a 2290.

I’d say retake in March.

I’ve been thinking that what with my courseload/EC’s and all, I’ll work mainly on mastering the math section (concepts/little mistakes etc) and keep up my reading of professional newspapers for critical reading, and retake when I feel 100% ready.
