My parents really want me to apply to do the College Match, but we're not exactly poor. Up until this year, our household income was around $95,000, and both my parents have 4-year degrees. Right now the household income is $55,000, and that's only because my mom is transitioning jobs (when she officially starts her new job the income will be ~100,000). Still, she REALLY wants me to use QB because of the full ride/no application fees, justifying it with "right now our income is below 60,000." I feel kind of slimy about taking advantage of something that's supposed to be for people who have had genuine difficulties growing up due to their low income, while I've never really worried about money. I've tried explaining this to her but she won't listen. Advice?

Perhaps look up on the Questbridge site the people that have been matched and their history. Maybe it’ll help her realize the type of people that really do NEED this scholarship. I’m glad that you see the right and wrong in taking advantage of an honest program such as this.
