I started taking practice SATs before March 2005. I wanted to know how to time myself taking these old practice tests that will help me with the current SAT?

How should i score myself? Are the scores still accurate for the current SAT?

Use newer tests; some of the material has changed.

@CHD2013 but i ran out of newer tests.

How many did you take?

@CHD2013 I took all of the tests in the blue book but since i didn’t know at the time i didn’t review any of them. Now i am redoing the blue book tests because i don’t remember most of them and reviewing the answers. I also have the online course but i wanted to save those until the test gets closer. (taking it in October) I wanted to do intense practice where i do many sections and review every answer.

I think its smart to redo the blue book. After you finish that, move on the online course. If you fully understand every question on around 20 tests you’ll be fine. If not, go back and do more intensive reviews of all the problems that you either got wrong or weren’t sure about the right answer.

@CHD2013 i have already finished most of the blue book. I only have around 2 tests left. I don’t know if it will be enough to just use the online course’s tools. And i have seen other forums where people have used the old SAT.

Feel free. I think you risk being inefficient in your studying because the test has changed. When you say finished though, do (or will) you thoroughly understand every answer in that book? Can you teach it all to someone else? If not, it might be more effective to go back through those questions as opposed to using the old tests. or search for other, newer tests (if you’re comfortable with that). They are available with a little ingenuity.

okay would it be better to use PSAT? @CHD2013

Yes, those would be fine as long as they’re post-2005

okay
