I found out early feb. I think...it was a while ago. I had my application in before Jan. 15 so I guess that's why I heard back earlier. I don't know...GOOD LUCK!!

I don't think Steinhardt vocal performance majors have found out yet. No cards, no invites, no anything. I know that some music business have. My daughter attended the MT summer program from Steinhardt last year, and the only person from that group who applied and got an invite to NYU is majoring in music ed, not MT. So there appears to still be hope!! Any other Steinhardt vocal performance people out there?

when was this so called "card" supposed to come? i think i may have discarded some stuff that seemed like ads or those colleges begging u to apply...

yeah, i agree with symphonyofsOund...i may have thrown it away as well

why would you throw away an envelope that says CONGRATULATIONS on it?

you people need to look at your mail more closely, when I saw that congratulations my heart skipped a beat! i ran into my house yelling I GOT IN I GOT IN.

it really is a lovely word when colleges say it :D

ok thanks for keeping my hope alive. The steinhardt stuff shocked it back and my hope is in the IC unit. applied as a nutritional science major, I hope what you said applies to steinhardt applicants in general

There is someone that posted on the Music Major message board that has a D that was accepted to Steinhardt for Vocal Peformance.

I called up again because of course I am a nervous wreck and the woman said that a week before april 1 and a week after is when all RD's are sent out, whether rejections or acceptances. So I guess march 24th to april 8th is the prime time for the "average mass" of RDs to find out.

This is from the NYU forums:

You should receive your invitation before you receive your decision. The last batch of invites are going out today; decisions are going out next week.
[/quote]

so that means your rejected if you dont recieve an invite before the formal decision? can you post a link of the forum please!!

They say on the forum that the last batch of invites are going out today, so it sound like depending on where you live if you don't have one by middle of next week you can pretty much assume reject.

I've been thinking that the invites are going out according to region. First it was east coast, which got the invites around the 10th, then the midwest, which got theirs around the 18th (my date) and now the west coast kids should be getting theirs soon. So if you live on the east coast or midwest and you don't get one by Saturday or Monday, then I think that you probably got rejected.

I'm Joey H btw =P

^^^(that's intended for those who viewed the NYU's forum_

OMG!!! My D got in!!!! Steinhardt for Music Ed - Horn Concentration!!!

OMGOMGOMG!!!

We live in NY State by the way.

i really don't think it's by region...considering i've had freinds get the cards almost everyday of the past week.

congrats momofstars!! i live in ny state as well so i'm thinking if i don't get a card soon it's bad news..even though i'm trying to optimistic :(

DM290: My D was certain she did not get in as of yesterday. Don't give up hope.

If momof3stars is just getting her letter now, I think it might solidify the theory that the invitations were sent out in waves to priority students first. I'm just saying this because I live in SoCal and got my letter on Monday, so they must have sent mine way earlier than that for it to get here.

I doubt it's by region.

thanks "momofstars"

and i agree with "dice"--i really doubt it's by region
