i still didn't get anything

It's just another girl in my class got a card on the same day and I doubted it was pure chance

didn't a lot of people who got in last year say that they never received cards??? gahh..

well... congrats to you momof3stars

yeah bubbly..many of my friends that go there now say they never got the cards

i think the post cards is a new thing this year

No, I'm pretty sure they had them last yr?

Ya I doubt it's by region too...I'm on the west, I got mines last week.

still didn't get one.

just got my mail.....still nothing....

dont worry guys...a bunch of my friends didn't get their decisions yet and nyu website says april 1st

Well, the fact that they sent the last batch of congratulations postcards yesterday and I still haven't seen anything in the mail is putting me in a bit of a conniption... on the other hand, postcards probably wouldn't be sent priority, so I suppose I'll wait till Monday to despair.

likeatuesday, where did you hear that they sent the last batch of congrats postcards out yesterday?

are you sure the last batch was sent yesterday? On their forums it said they were sending them out yesterday and Monday (the 24th) and then it'd be done.

Hi, my name is Amber, and a few of my friends who applied to Stern and CAS have recieved invitations saying that an acceptance will be coming in the mail; however, I applied to Steinhardt (to the Studio Art program). If I were accepted, should I also recieve an invitation form Stenhardt? Thank you for your time!

Yes; if you are going to be offered admission, you should receive an invitation. The final batches of invitations are going out today and Monday.

also from the same forums...

if you don't get a postcard before the formal decision it doesn't mean anything!!!! I know that everyone's nervous but we're all reading way too much into it. Yeah, they save rejections for last but I know plenty of people last year that got in and never recieved a card (and there were those that got in and recieved the cards early like what happened this year). Everyone stay optimistic, supposidly the actual decisions are being mailed out beginning/mid this coming week!

I hate to be Negative Nellie (bringing back some anachronistic phrases here), but I don't think we can use last year's admissions process as an indicator over what the NYU admissions officers have said this year. And since they've indicated that all those admitted will be receiving a postcard first, I would say that yes, it does, in fact, mean something.

That being said, there's still Monday/Tuesday before the mail gets here, if they mailed out the postcards by snail mail. Ah, well. Que sera sera.

based on what no1mtsfn said, they could be mailed out on monday...in which case it would come around the same time as the actual decision letter anyway...

yeah everyone gets a postcard but I don't think it has to be before. eventually all accepted students recieve them, but like last year, many recieved them with their formal acceptances and some even after. can someone clear this up!?!?!

why do some accepted applicants get their postcards MUCH before others do? does an early arrival of a postcard in any way indicate that the receipient is a "priority applicant" ?
