I still have not heard. Problem?

I still haven't heard from Michigan yet.
Did anyone who applied around December hear? I wonder if there is a problem with the process. And also I'm afraid. I wonder...

I applied in December and I have not heard yet either. Don't worry; I believe Michigan sends out its last group of decisions in a week or so. We must be in that last batch.

Still haven't heard back either!

yeah me neither, i called office of admissions and a girl told me that everything will be out by april 15th. which is so late and a pain because it hardly gives any time to decide.

Yea...15 days to decide your future. That's rough. I haven't heard either but I committed to Minnesota so I don't care but i feel like Michigan is really stressing this year trying to get things out. I feel like they've never taken this long deciding on this many applications, and the deadline is nipping at their heels.

thanks. That makes me feel so much better^^

Was that deadline for people who haven't heard on their initial application, or for one's who were deferred as well?

its for both.

I can't wait to hear and get it over with. October 4th was my application date and all materials received around the 14th....still waiting on the deferral.

same here. its been 6 months....

Does anyone know how many are accepted from the deferral group?

MightyNick-Did you call the admissions office and they gave you that date? I'm just making sure, because I was about to book plane tickets to other schools, but believe I can wait for that date, but don't want to bank on it without assurance. I'm asking you because I know you were deferred.

You're right that Michigan does not usually take this long. Deposits are coming in at a rate some would call alarming, given that they've admitted far fewer students. The crazy yield has made Michigan push back its final date.

Still, even at this point I am certain the U could differentiate people among the deferred pool, and let some of them know an admit won't be happening. There may be some reasons for not doing so that are beyond my ken.

Well, I've begun to assume that since they are starting to waitlist people, they're completely filled up and the rest of us are out.

or it could be that they're waitlisting people first and giving out acceptances later, based on the number of available spaces.

I hope you're right.

I'm really sick of this waiting. I submitted my application on Otober 14th and got an email in mid-January saying I won't know for a couple of weeks. Then I get a letter on March 28th saying I got deffered and I won't know until mid-April. This is awful, it was the first school I applied to and is last one I'll hear from. I heard that there was something going on with Freshman dorms so they had to admit far fewer students for fall of 2006.

What are your stats, tennisguy137?

Are you instate?

The thing I don't understand is that my friend who applied last October heard that she got accepted. I think she heard in January or around. What is taking so long for the people who applied only a month or two later? This is making me nervous.

bah . . . waitlisted, which is a nice rejection
