i still haven't been contacted...

yea pretty much all alum interviews are evaluative. On campus interivews vary from school to school, but for Yale they too are evaluative. Btw, I already had an on campus interview. Will that affect my chances of getting an alum interview? It seems like all the other kids applying EA to Yale at my school have already been contacted.

I've had both on campus and alumni. I don't think having one disqualifies you for the other.

I sent mine (snail mail) October 17th and haven't heard back, confirmation letter or alumni interview. Anyone else in this boat?

it doesn't disqualify you, but youre not prioritized

if they don't contact me by friday... I'll get worried lol.

I was reading the yale asc website and it told the alumni organizations that the interview reports were due by Dec. 1st...

<a href="http://www.yale.edu/asc%5B/url%5D">www.yale.edu/asc</a></p>

What exactly do you all mean by evaluative vs. informative? Which one holds more weight?

informative means its basically for YOU to get info about the school. evaluative is THEY get info about you. so evaluative carries more weight.

For those who haven't been receiving appl confirmation/contacted:

You can email your regional Admission Officer directly
who usually reply back pretty promptly with your appl status.

In some cases, appl have been complete but the so-called blue Eli letter (with PIN info) seemed to be delayed/lost in the mail.
Again you can request a new one to be sent.

Alumni interview contacts: depending on your interviewer's avail (e.g. some may be on business trips),
a contact will be made sooner or later (hopefully)!!

How do you identify who the regional Admissions officer is?

go to
<a href="http://www.yale.edu/admit/contact/staff.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.yale.edu/admit/contact/staff.html</a></p>

Generally they've emailed back in < 10 minutes!
Good luck to all!

Today is November 16 -- am I the only one who has heard absolutely
NOTHING?
no email
no letter
no postcard
no call about interview

Should I be taking a hint?

You should definitely contact the Admission Office ASAP!

Did you include a postcard in the HS packet (transcript/School Report form) sent to Yale, & to be returned by the Adm. Office?
Did you get this card back (i.e. your own postcard)?

coldcomfort:

You shouldn't be taking a hint... just contact the Yale office.

Are we supposed to call the interviewer, or just wait for a call?

Wait for a call... Are you close enough to a metro area to be in an Alumni district?

I haven't heard anything yet either. My guidance counselor called and the office said they're still processing and sending out postcards. She told me to call again if I don't hear anything by Tuesday.

I still haven't heard anything either, glad to know I'm not alone

My Eli letter came yesterday 11/18. So that was about three weeks from when I submitted it online and a little less than that from when everything else got there. Still haven't heard about an interview, but then, my voice teacher went to Yale and she wrote me a recommendation, so maybe that'll be enough.

okey dokey: submitted my app online. i got a confirmation that they received my app. i also have an eli letter. but alas, no interview call. what makes it worse: other ppl at my school (who submitted their apps after i did and used snail mail) have scheduled interviews already. what does that mean? at this rate, I don't think I'm going to have an interview. . .

Easy answer to all of these posts - pick up the phone!
