I submitted an extra essay. Is it ok?

Along with some of my applications, I submitted an extra essay that I thought was my best, to Northwestern, Amherst, Cornell and Dartmouth. Do you think this'll be ok? I know it can only help because the essay was good, but do you think they'll frown on it? Or will they just read it. I put a little note mentioning that I felt it showed a part of me my other essays didn't. Anyone?

It depends on the college. Some accept extra materials, some don't. Often the application or web site says if they accept extra materials.

hmm, interesting. but does anyone know like specifically? like if they don't say anythign on their website?

At worst, they won't read it. At best, they'll read it and it will help you. I can't think of any reason that an extra essay would hurt you unless it's a lousy essay.
