what is this cmu status page ppl keep referring to? I applied on the 30th of December.

They will send you an email.

okk thnx you

my common was downloaded on the 31st, should I be worried that I haven’t gotten any notifications from cmu? I am trying to set up an alumni interveiw and can’t do it until i have an id.

anyone help?? please

I submitted mine at around 8 o clock in the evening on first January. I still haven’t got any email from CMU. Should that be a worry? How much time do they take to give out the admission ID’s?

My S’s I’d number came snail mail. It took about a week at a much less busy time for admissions, so be patient and watch for regular mail.

Haven’t received an email. Applied day before the deadline.

I haven’t received an email yet too… should I be worried?

Hey did anyone here get a telephonic interview??.. is it compulsory to take one or can it be avoided???

That’s not a telephone interview. If you get a call with someone from admissions asking you if you have any “questions regarding CMU or your application”, don’t worry about it.

I’ve worked in the admissions office as a student ambassador. The student ambassadors get paid extra to make those calls to students and they’re given a list to go through. Essentially, they are not writing down or recording any of your responses - they’re just students answering questions who happen to be sitting in the admissions office while they’re doing it. They are not going to remember who you are and are not going to report it to anyone if you “don’t have any good questions to ask”. It’s literally just to give you more information about the school if you’d like it.

So, don’t panic, you don’t have to take the call and they probably won’t call you back if that’s the case. Some (but not all - it’s not exactly a fun job) will leave messages letting you know how you can reach them back to ask questions.

gahhh so annoying. no id = no alumni interview!

About the phone call “interviews,” will they just call you without telling you in advance?

Oh, and I still haven’t received a confirmation email.

^^Same, lol. I wish mail was faster

Yes, they will call without warning. Again, it’s just something to see if you have any questions and it’s not an actual admissions person contacting you. It won’t affect your chances of admission to not take the call.

It’s actually one of the least popular jobs the student employees take, because it requires working after 4-5 pm, doesn’t pay well, and people are really snotty over the phone. “what are you selling? CMU, what’s that? I don’t ****ing want anything. leave me alone.”

I see; I don’t live in America though, so I’d be surprised if I was called!
Still no confirmation email!

Lol…I could definitely imagine one of my parents doing that, haha.

I just got my envelope over here in MA, so they are coming around, just kinda slow, haha

^ CMU isn’t confirming applications through email?

so guys anything?

No post or email yet…
