I submitted my applications for transfer from a CC to a university, but I failed one of my classes.

As title says. I submitted my application to CSU schools CSULB, SJSU, and Cal Poly Pomona. From Fall 2016 to Summer 2017, I maintained a GPA within 3.5-3.8 range and passed all of my golden four classes with an either A or a B. This one class I’m failing is just a photography elective that’s worth 1.5 credits. But when I calculated it, I still had 60 transferable units and had an overall GPA above 3.5 without it. So this fail doesn’t seem to affect me very much on paper in regards to reaching the requirements. However, will these colleges look at this failure as a reason to reject me?

Well it certainly won’t help. That being said, it probably won’t destroy your chances of admission either. There is a qualifier that I should add and that is that if this course is being used to fulfill one of the CSU general education requirements then not receiving above a C will jeopardize admission. But, from the sound of it, that probably isn’t the case given that it’s only 1.5 units. It would really depend on the rigor of the program to which you are seeking admission, since I’d imagine some majors would be much more forgiving than others for failing grades.
