Hello. I start the fall 2019 semester in September and have already created my schedule and submitted my FAFSA and received it. Was it too early? Should I have waited?
Why would you think it too early? You can submit your FAFSA starting October of the year prior to attending.
What is the “it” that you received?

A check was mailed to you or money was deposited in a bank account of yours based on a FAFSA that you completed? That’s not the way FAFSA-determined financial aid usually works – typically your school will receive the funds and your school account will be credited. What kind of “financial aid money” did you receive? A Pell grant? Federal direct loans? A state grant? Something else? More details needed.
Here is your other thread. Your EFC Of 10…would indicate you would get about $3000 a semester in Pell Grant money. This will be sent to your college, and the college will use it to pay your bill. IF there is a balance after tuition and fees are paid, it will be refunded to you.
According to this other thread…you are attending a community college. The Pell most likely will cover most of your costs to attend the community college full time. If not, you are also eligible to take a Direct Loan but only up to the cost to attend…so probably not a lot.
@djabbar90 did you receive a financial aid award letter telling you what amount of aid you will be receiving?
Just keep this in mind…the FAFSA form for 2020-2021 will become available on October 1, 2019. I would strongly suggest you do this FAFSA for the NEXT school year a lot sooner than May.

Luckily I got enough money to cover all of my costs for the fall semester
I don’t think they’ve actually received it yet. I don’t believe they money is released until after the fiscal year starts (July 1st), and it may not be released until classes start. But yes, it does sound like your aid is enough to cover direct costs. As long as you keep your grades up you should be able to continue to receiving the grant in later semesters.
Ok, so you didn’t get the financial aid money; the school received it and credited it against your expenses (or the school is projecting that they will receive it). This is completely normal.
