I submitted my SIR to UC Davis instead of Cal and now I feel guilty and unsure

I’m just worried that the reasons I choose Davis over Cal are moot or I’ll encounter the same things at Davis that I wanted to avoid at Cal.

Is it too late to switch my SIR or if I really really really wanted to go to Cal I should withdraw my SIR and hope for the best next year?

I also choose Davis because it gave me more freedom to explore what I want BECAUSE of the quarter system and all that. Because even though I am a Psychology major I get fascinated by other things like Anthropology, Sociology, Studio art, and Philosophy.

I also avoided Cal because of the intense competition for classes of my major but I’d doubting if that was a good reason since maybe I could still get those classes and maybe it’ll be the same thing at Davis and all that.

I love the atmosphere of Davis, the atmosphere of Cal intimidates me because of crowds and the sketchy urban surroundings.

I understand that if I choose Berkeley my mind would be guilting over other things. ):

If you love the atmosphere at Davis then I would go to Davis. I find there to be little point trying to get an education in a place where you don’t think you will feel comfortable. That’s not a conducive environment for your success.

I’m sorry I am someone who needs a lot of reassurance in things, maybe I am too much of a baby to go to Cal. Despite being diagnosed with anxiety problems(I won’t specify) I miraculously got a good enough GPA from CC for Cal and despite the awesome professors at Cal, I heard there are other things around that can be quite a hassle to someone like me such as the administration, despite being a very proactive student.

^No worries! College is about developing yourself into who you want to be and you can do that at any university. I know everybody puts Cal on a pedestal but the fact of the matter is there are successful people that come from all universities, including UC Davis. Just make sure to go find all the opportunities available to you and take advantage of them and I know you can do great because you seem like a person who is serious about your education. Be happy about your decision. UC Davis is a awesome university and I bet you’ll love it there in no time.
