I summon you Dean J =] ( quick question)

I'm in love with UVA so this is probably an annoying question but I know myself and other die hard UVA fans want to know ....

--> About what time within March will the admissions department have an idea of when decisions will be officially released? That is if they will be released prior to April 1st, or are decisions definitely not coming until April 1st?

Thanks.

This has been answered multiple times, including on her blog.

Official date is April 1st.

If they finish early, they’ll come out before April 1st (have in the past few years). That date isn’t known until very close to the end of the month. Right now they’re still reading, then there’s finalizing letters, double checking, stuffing, then mailing. It’s too close of a deadline to call right now. If decisions are early, it’ll be all over here and her blog.

Have a good day

Just keep looking at the blog. Trust me, if they will be coming out early (which is more than likely) it will be announced on the blog. It is 5pm April 1st. If any thing changes Dean J will be sure to let us know.

Thanks.

Last year it was announced on March 22nd that decisions would be released on the 26th. The previous year they announced on March 24th that decisions would be early. It all depends on the progress of the admissions staff!

@skipblue

Thanks for actually answering the question,
at least someone here has reading comprehension skills ;)

I have this quirk about people “summoning” me this way. I try to check this site daily, but at this time of year, it isn’t always possible. I have a feeling you all would much rather me read your files than hang out online all day, right?

If you want to speak with a dean, you can call our office during business hours.

My blog has notification announcements going back to 2006. You can easily look at the dates there.

Bigshot: my answer of “close to the end of the month” wasn’t inaccurate at all and “actually answered” your question. There’s no magic date, as it’s been posted on here/Dean J’s blog numerous times. They’ll know closer to the end of the month a definite date.

lol I didn’t mean to come off snotty , I’m just dying for UVA decisions to come out =)

I should have been more clear and asked for a specific date.

Yea that term “summoning” just feels awkward. Trust me bigshot, I know how you feel. I’ve been waiting for the UVA decision since 8th grade :D. I’m honestly shocked that it is now March. Where has the time gone? In less than 2 months I will be out of HS. Life goes quick! Just the fact that I’m not 18 scares me.

BigShot, I know all of you are quite anxious at this time of year, however ShoeBox did answer your question perfectly. The fact that the exact date is still nebulous is what you all need to realize and accept.

Please understand and appreciate all that Dean J has on her plate right now as well as be thankful that ShoeBox (a longtime poster) took the time to answer your question.

Last year decisions were available online on March 26th, however they had almost 24,000 applications this year. I am sure you all want UVa admissions to look at all you have to offer. Coming on this thread and calling out Dean J and saying a graduate of UVa does not have good reading comprehension is not showing you in the best light. Think before you post. One thing I know and UVAorBust has said it numerous times, UVa students and alum are a very kind and generous group. If you want to be a part of this wonderful community you need to think about the advice I have put forth and be thankful for those that are trying to assist you.

Best of luck to you and remember good things come to those who wait.

Woosah, apart from thinking about the advice we put forth and being thankful we also have to get in ;). This has been a long ride, and even if I don’t get into UVA, which I am praying is not the case, I’ve enjoyed meeting so many people on CC.

UVAorBust you are right and I know if you get in you will appreciate all UVa has to offer.

Okay Thanks really appreciate all the responses. My question was answered, with skipblue and Dean J, lets allow this thread to die peacefully.
Otherwise your just. . .

Good Luck to all those applying to UVA

-------------------------- End of Thread-------------------------------

For all of you interested in when the responses will come…what I do know is that I’ve received mine 4-5 days ago, and it was a “yes”. I got it via e-mail (with a link to my account where I had to check my status). The next step is to wait for the actual envelope via mail to arrive. Hope that helps.

Paper doesn’t refuse ink, folks.

With the exception of a handful of QuestBridge kids, we haven’t admitted anyone. No one can see a decision online because we don’t have any decisions yet!

An email was sent to anyone who didn’t log into the SIS yet. Perhaps you confused that with a decision?

No, I don’t…I am sorry for confusing everybody. I was talking about a graduate program and I forgot to mention that, which is why the time for admission might be different. I am sorry once again.
