I have two friends one is asian has worked their ass off and is ranked 2nd in their class, the other is Cuban and is barely an Honor Roll Student. My friend who has gotten straight A's and a 2200 got denied and my Cuban friend was accepted. They are of the same economic background and have been given the same opportunities. I just think this is unfair beyond belief.

I got in to the school I'm talking about and I am white and ranked in the top 10 in my class with a 2200

^affirmative action is unfair! and with Obama now President they have to stop doing AF!!

lol i think it should be based on economic background not race. i dont care what color your skin is.

I think basing on either economic background or race is not fair. I come from a more affluent background than most, but that doesn't mean I poured money into ridiculous winter, spring, fall, summer SAT/AP/PSAT preps. I understand that those in the lower class are at a disadvantage, but sometimes, it's unfair....

^ i'm white and low income! so.. what about me? i deserve a nice week-end too!!!

....so did the Cuban guy do any extracurriculars or anything? stellar essay?

If it wasn't for affirmative action, or whatever other colloquial nom de plume it may go by, universities in the United States would be OVERWHELMINGLY South and East Asian. Cool your jets, folks.
